680News wins five Murrow awards! (2nd year in a row!)
The Radio Television Digital News Association announced that 680News has won a total of five Edward R. Murrow awards, including awards for Overall Excellence, Best Newscast, Use of Sound, News Series (Basketball Lifeline) and Broadcast Affiliated Website (680News.com).
The awards for Best Newscast and Use of Sound were for coverage of the G20 event.
It is the second year in a row that 680News has won five Edward R. Murrow awards.
The RTDNA, based in Washington, D.C., has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. 680News won these awards in Region 14 for Large Market.
There are 13 regions in the United States and Region 14 covers all international members.
Entries that win regional awards are automatically submitted for consideration for the national Edward R. Murrow Awards.
The national winners will be announced in June.
